Earlier this month, a report coedited by MEN4DEM team member Alberta Giorgi was published, titled: (Un)Silencing Academia in Times of Epistemic Conflicts: Navigating Online Violence.
The volume discusses online violence against academics and epistemic conflicts/politics of knowledge production and risky research, and additionally includes a chapter by MEN4DEM advisory board member Ov Cristian Norocel (in co-authorship with Iris B. Segers and Charles M. Ess).
The authors collectively reflect on online violence against academics, contemporary epistemic conflicts (and the role of digital platforms and practices), academic precarity and politics of knowledge production - combining theoretical perspectives with empirical case studies in different contexts, we also discuss the role of academic institutions and practices of solidarity and complicity.
