Understanding, connecting, changing.

There is a hunger to collaborate and share experiences and knowledge.

I see this as a collective journey that is empowering, hopefully for all of us.

GESIS

Alexia Katsanidou leads the GESIS Department Survey Data Curation. She is a comparative political scientist and Professor of Empirical Social Research at the University of Cologne. With a Ph.D. in Politics from Essex University, her work explores how crises and inequalities shape political attitudes and behaviours. From financial instability to climate change, Alexia's research spans diverse crises at individual, regional, and national levels. She embeds gender attitudes into broader debates on attitude formation and attitude bundling. A steering committee member of MEDem and part of the executive of the European Election Study, she is dedicated to advancing high-quality, harmonized, and linked (survey) data to illuminate pathways in democracy research.
